Privacy notice

This notice explains what Parkstay does with personal data when you search for a park home, make a booking, or list a home of your own. It is written to be read rather than to be survived. Homes UK Group Limited is the controller for the data described here.

Who we are

Parkstay is a trading name of Homes UK Group Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 16921463, registered office Bankside 300, Peachman Way, Broadland Business Park, Norwich, Norfolk NR7 0LB. Our registration with the Information Commissioner's Office is in hand, and this notice will carry the number as soon as it is issued.

Questions about this notice, or any request about your data, go to info@homesuk-group.co.uk. We answer within one month.

What we collect, and why

When you search, we process the search itself — where, when, how many people, whether a dog is coming. This is needed to show you homes that are actually available, and it is the least we can ask for.

When you book, we collect the lead guest's name, email address, telephone number, country of residence, the size and make-up of the party, your expected arrival time, and anything you tell us in the special-requests box. We need this to form and perform the contract for your stay, and to let the park know who is arriving and when.

If you list a home, we process your name, contact details, the details of the home, your bank or payment details for remittance, and the bookings the home takes. This is needed to perform our agreement with you and to pay you.

We keep a record of pages viewed and bookings made. Where that goes beyond what is strictly necessary, it happens only if you have accepted analytics cookies.

Our lawful bases

Contract — everything needed to take a booking, hold it, and let you into the home. Without this data there is no booking.

Legal obligation — accounting and tax records, and the guest records a holiday park is required to keep.

Legitimate interests — securing the site against fraud and abuse, improving what we offer, and answering enquiries. We have weighed these against your interests and you may object at any time.

Consent — optional cookies, and marketing email. You may withdraw consent at any time, and doing so is as easy as giving it.

Who sees it

The park you are booking. It has to: the operator prepares the home, sends the door code and meets you if you need meeting. They act as a separate controller for what they then do with it, under their own privacy notice.

The owner of the home, where a home is privately owned and let through the park. They receive the booking dates and the party size, not your contact details, unless you ask us to pass them on.

Our processors — the hosting provider that runs this site, our email provider, and our payment provider. Each is bound by a written contract restricting them to our instructions.

Where a booking reaches us through a travel site, that site receives the confirmation and the status of the booking, because it is a party to how the booking was made.

We do not sell personal data, and we never will.

Where it is held

Data is stored on servers in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Where a processor operates outside that area, the transfer is covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

Booking records: seven years from the end of the tax year in which the stay took place, because HMRC requires it.

Enquiries that do not become bookings: two years.

Marketing consent and its withdrawal: for as long as we hold your record, because we have to be able to prove what you chose.

Analytics: aggregated after 14 months and no longer tied to an individual.

Your rights

You may ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, object to processing carried out on legitimate interests, and ask for a portable copy of anything you gave us. Exercising any of these costs nothing.

Write to info@homesuk-group.co.uk. If you are not satisfied with our answer you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first.

Children

This site is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16 except as part of a party size on a booking made by an adult.

Automated decisions

Nothing on this site makes an automated decision with a legal or similarly significant effect. Prices vary by season and by length of stay according to published rules, not by anything we know about you.
